In this blog post, we talk about some common emergency services that we provide. You can also check out our emergency page for more information.

Emergency Root Canal Therapy

If your tooth is hurting unbearably, you may need root canal therapy to treat and clean out an infected pulp, the inner layer of your tooth. Please call our office and set up an emergency visit with our team as soon as you can. It’s important to take care of tooth infections as soon as possible because not only can they cause severe pain, but the infection can spread and cause further complications as well.

A dental abscess is a pimple-like growth that can appear on the gums or under the gums when an infection is present. Sometimes abscesses drain on their own and the pain goes away, but the infection still needs to be treated before it spreads. Our team can carefully drain a gum or dental abscess to both relieve the pain and treat the infection.

Fixing or Reattaching an Adult Tooth

A damaged or knocked-out adult tooth requires immediate treatment so call us ASAP! For a dislodged tooth, there is a short window of opportunity to save the tooth and reattach it. A tooth that has been dislodged for too long cannot be reattached and will need to be replaced with a dental restoration like a bridge, implant, or partial denture. If you can, place the tooth in a cup of milk or saliva to help it stay viable until arrive at our office.

Applying a New Dental Restoration

Losing a dental crown or bridge can leave a weak or damaged tooth exposed to infection and further damage. We may not be able to repair the detached restoration, but we will certainly place a new restoration over the tooth to ensure that it stays protected and strong. Cracking or breaking a tooth is considered a dental emergency for the same reason.
